She is loving survived by her husband Jim, to whom she was married to for 58 years. Dear mother of
Steve (Laurie) and Pam (John) Schmitt, grandmother of Kristine (Darrin) Springer and Elizabeth (Andrew)

Laurie grew up in Brookfield and was part of the first graduating class at Brookfield Central High School
in 1958. She met Jim at Briggs and Stratton and they married in 1960. They had a wonderful life
together, traveling to Hawaii numerous times and all over Europe. They owned a lake home for 47 years
in Crandon and in 1996, they built a home in Hudson, Florida, splitting their time between Florida and
Wisconsin. Laurie loved tending to her multiple flower beds along with gardening and canning her
homegrown vegetables. Her greatest love though was playing games, especially Scrabble, 65 and
Mexican train. She was always up to playing one more game, even if it was 2 a.m.
She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will take place at a later time.
