Lawrence J. Halweg, 87 of Camanche, Iowa, died Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Mercy One, Clinton.  

Lawrence was born November 13, 1931 in Maynard Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Anna (Friedrich) Halweg. Lawrence was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was employed as a machinist at Waukesha Engine; he became shop foreman in the crank case department and later was promoted to plant manager for the Waukesha Engine Clinton, Iowa operation. He retired in 1986.

Lawrence married Lydia Marie Colfer, she died September 4, 1966. He later married Ardath Schunke Zinn on March 29, 1975 in Hartland, WI. 

Lawrence was a member of the Hartland, WI American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Ardath of Camanche; sons, Lee (June) Halweg of Oconomowoc, WI; Les (Kay) Halweg of Evansville, IN; daughter, Roberta (Kevin) Rousseau of Boise, ID; daughters, Wendy Radant of Waukesha, WI and Carla (Gary) Mastalir of Sussex, WI; grandchildren, Loren Halweg of Oconomowoc; Ronda Cook of Evansville; Tiffany (Michael) Gruner of Evansville; Trystan Rousseau and Nathaniel Rousseau both of Boise, Josiah Radant, Renae Jones and Daniel (Tina) Mastalir; great-grandchildren, Jordan Potts, Reagan Bradshaw, Aiden Bradshaw, Lilly Gruner Tyler Jones, Skylar Mastalir and Hunter Mastalir and his brother Ralph (Marinell) Halweg of Denver, IA.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Lydia, sisters, Lorraine Harris and Darlene Brandt; brothers, Harlan and Daniel Halweg, daughter Karen Zinn and his parents.

Graveside Services with complete military honors will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 3rd, at the Village of Hartland Upper Annex Cemetery (located at 400 W Capitol Drive behind Northpoint Church).
