Dennis A. Donovan, of Pewaukee, took the checkered flag on April 4, 2021 after his final lap at the age of 79.
Driving truck was the name of his game for most of his working life. His life would not have been complete without all forms of racing, participating as a driver in his younger years, becoming a member of USAC, serving on the safety crew at Hales Corners Speedway and as a timer and member of the safety crew at the Milwaukee Mile Speedway, and being a huge fan in later years. He enjoyed basketball and baseball and was a former Land O’ Lakes umpire. Riding his Honda Gold Wing brought him hours of complete joy.
His pit crew consisted of his daughters Denise (Jim) Wasilewski and Colleen (Jim) Baus, his grandchildren Ben (Gretchen) Baus, Allison (Eric Schuetz) Baus, Brandon (Amber) Wagar, and Christopher (Mollie) Wagar and 2.75 great grandchildren Weston, Eddie and Baby Baus. His fan club also includes his siblings Tim (Christina) Donovan, Jan (the late Ed) Saxe, Kay Milliken, Patty (Keith) Kirschbaum, and his partner under the hood Rick Mueller, other relatives and many dear friends.
Join us in a celebration of Dennis’ life at Evert-Luko Funeral Home, 170 Warren Ave. Hartland, WI on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 4:00 PM until the waving of the checkered flag at 6:00 PM.
