Betty Louise Talaska

Betty Louise (Hartung) Talaska of Hartland, Wisconsin left this world peacefully on December 22, 2024 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. She was 85 years old.

Betty was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Growing up she attended 3 different grade schools and two different high schools. These ever-changing experiences no doubt sparked her interest in education and helped shape her into the social butterfly that she was. She received her undergraduate degree in education from the UWM School of Education where she was a member of the Sigma Alpha Sigma sorority. She later earned her Master’s Degree. For 29 years she was a 4th grade teacher at Hartland Elementary School where she was beloved by her students for her always fun and creative approaches to learning.

In work and in play Betty was always on the move. She enjoyed tennis, golf, Zumba, dancing with husband Bob, and any reason to get together with family or her large group of dedicated friends.

Betty is survived by her children David Dolenshek, Diane (Ryan) Molitor, Randall (Julie) Dolenshek; grandchildren Jordan (Lauren) Dolenshek, Taylor (Joshua) Carow, Logan Dolenshek, Marley Molitor; and great-grandchildren Everly and Luke Dolenshek, and Lucy Carow. Also survived by brother Charles (Deborah) Hartung and extended family. She is further survived by step-son William Talaska, grandson Cory Talaska and sister and brother-in-laws Louise (Larry) Buerger, Katherine Pirlot, Kenneth (Tracey) Talaska, and Jean (Charles) Gallow. She was preceded in death by husband Robert “Bob” Talaska and parents Henry and Jane Hartung.

A Celebration of Life for Betty and husband Bob will be held on February 10, 2025 at Evert-Luko Funeral Home, 170 Warren Avenue, Hartland, Wisconsin 53029. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a service to immediately follow.
