Carol (Henry) Ehrsam, 81, died peacefully December 11, 2020 at Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI after a courageous battle with Huntington’s disease.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tom, her children Hank (Lara) Ehrsam, Brad (Mary) Ehrsam, and Dawn (Tom) Blau, and five very special grandchildren, Malin, Tommy, and Sam Ehrsam; and Greta and Stella Blau. She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Edwin. Surviving siblings are brothers Hilton (Brenda) Henry and George (Carol) Henry and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was born to Leo and Hilda Henry on December 21, 1938 in Connersville, Indiana. Carol’s dream of becoming a teacher was fulfilled in 1961 when she graduated from Indiana University with a degree in education. She married Tom on June 13, 1964. Carol continued teaching until becoming a mother and full-time homemaker. She was active in her church, children’s school and family activities. Her backyard was filled with neighborhood children awaiting milk and cookies. In her later years she enjoyed working in her gardens. Anyone in need of a warm meal or a place to stay was welcome in Carol’s home. Carol had a very strong faith and shared that with others in a quiet and loving manner. She loved unconditionally, was welcoming, warm and kind.
We would like to thank Christ Lutheran Church, friends, and aides who supported Carol with her spiritual and physical needs.
Due to COVID, Carol will be buried in a private ceremony. A celebration of her life will be held when it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA).
