Carolyn Mae Kneusel

Carolyn “Carol” Kneusel (nee Steckbauer) of Hartland, WI, passed away peacefully at Shorehaven Lutheran Home in Oconomowoc, WI on July 26th, 2023, at the age of 88.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Allan whom she married in 1957. Together they raised two sons, Gregory (Catherine) of Delafield and Richard (Ursula Schrock) of Freiburg, Germany.

Carol was known for her love of baking, especially her chocolate chip cookies. She also loved shopping and the pursuit of a bargain. She and Allan together loved antiques and enjoyed the hunt for collectibles. Most of all, Carol adored her grandchildren, Emily (Jared) Marshall, Jacob Kneusel (Madeline Prange), and Julius Hempen. She was also the proud “GG” of five great-grandchildren, Maverick and Annabelle Marshall along with Graham, Madeline, and Amarianna Kneusel. Carol is further survived by her brother-in-law Thomas (Janet) Kneusel, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her dear friend Rosa Munoz.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lauretta Steckbauer, brothers Edward, Donald and Alan Steckbauer, and her sister Donna Bemis.

A Memorial Service for Carol will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Evert-Luko Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Ristow officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at the funeral from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Carolyn’s name made to the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) of Waukesha, WI.
