Colleen S. Mueller

Colleen Sue Mueller of Waukesha departed her loving family peacefully at the age of 74 on February 25, 2024. Colleen was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 18, 1949, to parents Daniel and Marion (Smitka) Rice. She was the beloved wife of William Mueller of 41 years.

Colleen is survived by her husband Bill, her daughters Heidi (Jason) Gluszik and Linda (Adam) Hanke, grandchildren Henry and Evelynn Gluszik, and Sarah and Matthew Hanke. She is also survived by her sisters Jennifer (David) Powers and Katherine (Daniel) Beaudry, nieces and nephews Nicole Arendt, Michael Powers, Renee (Ben) Oleson, and Daniel (Megan) Beaudry, and great-nephew Lucas Oleson. Anyone who knew Colleen loved her and she will be missed by many relatives and friends.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Marion Rice, Bill’s parents Donald and Beverly Mueller, her sister Priscilla Arendt, and her son Phillip who was born sleeping.

Colleen obtained an Associate’s degree in Nursing from MATC and worked as an LPN, most notably at St. Luke’s Hospital. She left her career to raise her daughters, who followed in her footsteps, and both became Registered Nurses. Colleen was known for her warm and welcoming nature, knack for hosting, and exceptional desserts. She was an avid crafter, specializing in knitting and cardmaking. She enjoyed being outside in her gardens and with her beloved pets, Freckles and Cinnamon. She was full of life and a joy to be around, and it was difficult for those who loved her to watch her decline as her Alzheimer's disease progressed. Her family is comforted that she is at peace and whole again in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Evert-Luko Funeral Home, (170 Warren Avenue) Hartland, WI. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at the funeral home from noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow. To honor Colleen, please wear your favorite Badger gear or favorite sweatshirt.

Memorials can be made in Colleen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Angel’s Grace Hospice.
