Constance “Connie” Zacher passed away on June 19, 2024. She was born on August 17, 1938, in Milwaukee, WI.
Connie was a wife, sister, and loving mother to four daughters, Beth (John) Bredemus, Renee Britton, Lisa (Chuck) Zimmermann, Kelly (Mark) Thiede, Nana to Lara, David (Caroline), Nathan, Monica, Maddie, Zachary (Lacey), Carly, Evan, Thomas and Tyler, and a great Nana to Nolan and Rory.
She was a long-time employee of Delco Electronics and also enjoyed waitressing at the Pfister Hotel. She loved exotic travel and had been to Columbia, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Hawaii, cruised the Galapagos islands, and China where she had seen the Great Wall. That truly was a highlight in her life! She also enjoyed travel throughout the United States.
After retiring Connie loved participating in many activities. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, performed in parades as a Dancing Grannie, and spent many hours at the Milwaukee Museum. She also loved animals and had owned several cats and a dog over the years. Her biggest passion was for the wild birds that she loved to feed. She would visit the local feed stores to purchase fancy food and feeders just to sit outside and enjoy watching them. Her favorite was the Baltimore Orioles, whom she would buy jars of jelly and oranges for.
When her girls were younger, she always found time for fun events. Taking them to the beach at Lake Michigan, trips up north, the local pools and even roller skating. Connie was a great and present Grandmother. She spent countless hours taking the grandkids to parks, museums, events and celebrating their lives. She lived her retirement years for the kids and was a constant support their whole lives. She truly loved being with them.
Connie loved dark chocolate and had a great passion for coffee. Her daughters could often hear her ask, "Is there coffee" when staying with her. She also appreciated a great steak and a "good" martini!
Connie was a strong independent woman instilling her high moral and ethical values into her daughters. Lastly, she was very passionate on living a healthy life. A gift she passed on to her children.
