Donald Russell Luko passed away in Lake Wales, FL on December 15, 2019 at the age of 88.
He was born on December 21, 1931 to parents Charles and Theresa Luko and was later joined by his brother Richard and his sister Carol.

Don grew up in Hartland, WI and was a ferocious competitor in all his athletic endeavors. He once scored 77 points in a single Land O’Lakes Basketball game against Lake Geneva Badgers and has the honor of being a former Land O’Lakes batting champion. In 1977 he was inducted into the Land O’Lakes Baseball Hall of Fame. He excelled in football, basketball and baseball earning a scholarship to Marquette University as a football quarterback.

After college Don joined the Army and upon returning home, he became engaged to Judith Schweitzer. They married in 1956 and moved to Oconomowoc, WI where they raised four children.

Don graduated from the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science in 1956 and began working at the Lyke Funeral Home and Furniture Store in Oconomowoc. In the 1970’s he began working as a salesman for his father’s company Correct Equipment. He completed his working days as a salesman at Republic Midwest (a wallcovering company in Milwaukee).

Shortly after retirement Don and Judy moved to White Potato Lake, WI and in 1997 they began sharing time at Saddlebag Lake Resort in Lake Wales, FL. He loved spending time with his friends at Saddlebag, joining the Men’s Club and Golf Club and serving as Master of Ceremonies for the Kitchen Band and Fun Day Under the Oaks.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Judy, his daughter Jennifer Casper and his sons Jeff, Jay and John. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his brother Dick and his sister Carol.

Don was known and respected in Hartland, Oconomowoc
and the Lake Country Area for many years.

A Memorial Mass is planned at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, Oconomowoc in early summer.
