Our beloved Mom, Grandma and partner in life passed peacefully at home on Monday, October 5, 2021 at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer. Doris didn’t lose this battle, she won every day, didn’t miss any events and approached each day with a positivity that was inspiring to all those around her.
She is survived by her fiercely adored daughters Kelli (Scott), Jill (Brian) and Lana (Adam); grandkids Hailey, Brody, Abigail and Audrey; partner Mike Schnuck; his kids Matt (Jen) and Chris (Colleen); a sister Donna (Mike), brother Glen (Shirley), and brother Erv, as well as nieces, nephews, grand-dogs and grand-cats.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fred & Luella Stahlhut and her brother Melvin.
Doris was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1978, where she raised her daughters and instilled her Indiana values in everything she did. She was a long-term employee of Kohl’s Department store in Delafield, where she always knew when to shop for the best deals and when the Kohl’s cash expired. She loved traveling, especially to Colorado where she would downhill ski with her daughters and became the best ski instructor her grandkids could ever hope for. Mom and Mike were long-time Wisconsin Badger Football season ticket holders, enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and loved her “retirement job” as a gate screener for the Milwaukee Brewers. Mom was a great listener, insanely loyal and would do anything for her “girls”. Her passing has left a large void in our family and her influence and legacy will live on in all that we do. We will “Love you Always” Mom and “Love you Always” Grandma and thank you for all that you’ve taught us about life, the power of unwavering love and the unwillingness to ever give up.
