Dorothy L. Richter

Dorothy Lorraine (Reinders) Richter entered Eternal Life October 3, 2023, at the age of 94.

Beloved wife of Albert Richter for 62 years preceding his passing in 2017. Dorothy was the cherished mother of Steve Richter (Laura) and Sandy Ferrito (Sal). She was the proud and loving grandmother of Sarah Schmidt (Jacob), Sal Jr. (Desiree), and Mia Olson (Andrew). She also was blessed with four great-grandchildren Emery (5), Ava (3), Nels (8 mo.), and Alec (1 mo.) 

Dorothy was also preceded in death by three sisters Doris Fisher (Warren), Dolores, and Elaine Slavik (the late Larry).

Dorothy was born on April 16, 1929, and raised in Wauwatosa. She was the third of four daughters born to Henry and Eleanor (Dahlke) Reinders. Dorothy began her married life to Al in 1955. They were surrounded by many great lifetime friends they referred to as the “Rustic Garden Group”. Family gatherings were also a special part of their lives. They spent over 50 years of their life together in the home they built in Brookfield, WI where they raised their two children, Steve and Sandy. Dorothy’s grandchildren Sarah, Sal Jr., and Mia were always the great loves of her life. They affectionately referred to her as “Gammy”. She loved holding babies, chocolate, baking, and of course…a 5pm Manhattan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Charles Church, 313 Circle Drive Hartland, WI. Followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Elm Grove, WI.
