Frances T Keenan

Frances “Fran” Keenan died peacefully on August 5, 2023 at the age of 90 after a short illness.

She was born in Rockford, IL on April 7, 1933 to Robert and Irene Crichton. She married Richard Keenan

on July 25, 1964 and together they had four children. With the passing of her husband at the young age

of 53, Fran continued to lovingly raise her teenaged children into adulthood, helped by her extended

family and friends whenever needed. Fran most loved spending time with her children, grandchildren,

and her nieces and nephews. Recently, she enjoyed sharing meals with her new friends at Kirkland

Crossings in Pewaukee, WI.

Fran is survived by her children Patrick of San Diego, CA, Daniel (Carolina) of Seattle, WA, Mary (Andy)

Surber of Santa Barbara, CA and Kevin (Julie) of Hartland, WI. Grandchildren Maura Keenan of New

Berlin, WI, Megan Keenan of Waukesha, WI, Keenan Surber and Logan Surber of Santa Barbara, CA and

Cristobal Keenan of Seattle, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fran was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents, her sisters Irene Crichton, Mary Crews,

Lucille Miller and Jean Winquist and her brother Robert “Bud” Crichton. Also, her beloved chocolate

labs, Hershey and Chip.

Fran’s family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Kirkland Crossings as well as the nurses

and CNA’s at Three Pillars Hickory Suites Rehabilitation and ProHealth Angels Grace Hospice who

provided loving care to Fran.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Fran will be held on Thursday, August 10 at 11:00 AM, at St. Charles

Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland, WI, with Fr. Ken Omernick officiating. Family and friends are

invited for the visitation at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic

Cemetery in Winnebago, IL the following day on August 11.
