Francis J. Peters

Francis (Fran) J. Peters of Pewaukee passed away on November 14, 2022 at the age of 97.

Francis was born in Milwaukee to Frank and Anita (nee Bauman) Peters. He grew up in Milwaukee and moved to Brookfield in the 1950s where he raised his family. Francis was born an entrepreneur and owned several businesses throughout the years including Smart Floors, Brook Park Colonial Lanes, Hartbrook Lanes and Lakeview Lanes. He was an avid golfer, bowler and loved to fish.

Francis served in World War II as a technician for the 975th Engineers Maintenance Company of the United States Army. He earned a Good Conduct medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, and Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal.

Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Darylene Peters and sister, Shirley (Roman) Atkielski. He is survived by his children Gary (Maria) Peters, Gregory (Cynthia) Peters, Sandra (Thomas) Klink, Lauren (Robert) Ackerman and John Peters; step-children Jeffrey Wagner and Lisa Wershay; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Evert-Luko Funeral Home (170 Warren Avenue) Hartland with Pastor Jane Mathison officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home from 4:00PM until the time of service.
