Gary J Kleist

Gary John Kleist passed away peacefully in his sleep early Tuesday morning April 26th, 2022. He had been at Angels Grace Hospice since April 2nd due to congestive heart failure. Gary was born to Gertrude Elsa Kleist in Hamburg, Germany on September 11, 1950. Gary was the oldest of 4 children.

He was preceded in death by his mother Gertrude, stepfather Walter Friedl, and his youngest sister, Frances Anderson.

Gary is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years Bonnie Kleist. He is also survived by his brother Walter Friedl (Sandy) and sister Mona Friedl (Phil Runde) as well as other family members and friends.

Gary and Bonnie were partners in a prayer ministry called Tears of Joy based in Pewaukee. It gave him great joy to serve the Lord. He was a very talented artist and craftsman. His artwork reflected his deep faith.

A visitation will be held Thursday May 5, 2022 at 4:00 pm followed by a service at 5:00 pm at Evert-Luko Funeral Home in Hartland, Wisconsin. There will be a private internment Friday May 6, at 10:00 am at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
