Gary Lee LeRoy slipped away peacefully from lingering health problems on May 20, 2021. Gary was 67 years old. The son of Ken and Jean LeRoy, he was the youngest of three children. Gary was a resident of Hartland his entire life, graduating from Hartland Grade School and then graduating Arrowhead High School in 1972. He continued his education at WCTC and then worked as draftsmen for over 45 years before retiring in 2016 from Evoqua Water Technologies. Gary was a chartered member of The Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 294 Hartland, WI established 1976. As a member for over 45 years, he served with loyalty in every aspect of the squadron. Gary was also a member of Post 294’s clown unit and championship color guard of the 1970’s and 1980’s. Gary was a participant as well as helpful organizer of numerous parades, poker runs, golf outings, and other volunteer opportunities. Gary also took great pride in serving in the Honor Guard for many local funerals. Gary served many years at the state level as Assistant State Adjutant for The Sons of the American Legion. One of his proudest moments came in 2019 when Gary was named Honorary State Commander of the Sons of the American Legion at the state convention. Gary was a lifelong avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed many games at Lambeau Field with family and friends. Gary was a faithful and loyal friend to his many associates and acquaintances and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ken LeRoy and Roberta Jean (Witham) LeRoy. Survived by brother Bruce (MariKay) LeRoy, sister Kathy (David) Godgluck. A loving uncle to niece and nephews: Bruce J.(Shelli) LeRoy, Kate (Jay Lang) LeRoy, Lee (Bethanne) Godgluck, David W. Godgluck, Matthew Godgluck.
A visitation will be held on Friday June 4, 2021 from 2pm-4pm at Evert-Luko Funeral Home 170 Warren Ave. Hartland, WI. The service will be held at 4pm followed by fellowship at the American Legion Post 294.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 294, Hartland, WI.
