Irving L. Burger

July 22, 1937 — February 5, 2024

Irving L. Burger, loving husband of Audrey Burger, (Friesner) was born to eternal life on February 5th, 2024.


Beloved father to Shelly Lund (Robert) and Stacy Baker (William). Adoring Grandfather to Allison Henning (Mark) and Erika Lund. Further survived by brothers Lawrence Burger, Wayne Burger (Laura), and by sister Laurie Szpara (Roger). Also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends. Irving was preceded in death by his parents Verna Burger and Lawrence Burger. Also, by brothers Charles Burger, Jack Burger (Carol), and sister LuAnne Goehring (Kent).


Irving (Irv, Ernie), was a member of the Milwaukee Fire Department from 1963-1996. Irving was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing at his cottage on Lower Genesee Lake in Oconomowoc. He also enjoyed golfing and was a Packer’s and Brewer’s fan. Irving enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s sports and school activities during his retirement.


The Celebration of Life for Irving will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Evert-Luko Funeral Home, (170 Warren Avenue) Hartland, WI with Fr. Ariel Orozco officiating. The Milwaukee Fire Department Honor Guard presentation will take place at 4:45 p.m. with a Prayer Service following at 5 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to visit directly at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service.


We would like to extend heartfelt thanks to ProHealth Oconomowoc Home Hospice, especially his nurse Maria, as well as to Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, especially Melissa and Isabel.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PAN (Prostate Cancer Group) or Alzheimer’s Association.
