James "Jim" Schneider

In loving memory of James “Jim” Schneider of North Lake, WI who passed away peacefully on December 16 at the age of 86. Jim attended Whitefish Bay High School in WI and studied at the University of Milwaukee before transferring to the University of Miami, FL to pursue a degree in Finance and more importantly his love of fishing. He enjoyed a long career in commercial real estate at First Wisconsin/US Bank, where he played racquetball daily over lunch at the Milwaukee Athletic Club. 

Jim loved muskie fishing up-north on Bear Lake and all aspects of “Lake Life” on North Lake, where he lived for the past 22 years. He treasured all family time at the lake, but particularly pontoon cocktail cruises with his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandkids. Jim was a master gardener who was known for his trophy tomatoes and kohlrabi, which he delivered by boat and golf cart to neighbors. Eighty tomato plants are a lot for anyone!

A beloved husband of 56 years to Linda, father/papa to Ann (Jon) Maurer and Kim (Tom) Ryan. Proud grandfather to Blake, Emma, Jill, Brendan and Abe. Big brother to Susie Wagner and Marita Binkowski. Preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Marguerite Schneider, and brothers-in-law, Dennis Binkowski and Mark Wagner.

The family would like to thank the Home Instead caregivers who helped care for Jim for the past 1.5 years, and loving staff of Agrace Hospice Oconomowoc and ProHealth AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. 

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in North Lake (W314 N7462 WI-83, Hartland). Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and mass at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon at church. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Teresa of Calcutta St. Vincent de Paul Society, P. O. Box 68, North Lake, WI 53064-0068 (Checks should be made out to St. Teresa of Calcutta).
