Jean A. Strandlien (Nee Herbstreith)

Jean A. Strandlien (nee Herbstreith) was born to Eternal Life on November 28, 2019 at the age of 90.



Jean was born on September 9, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI where she lived with her parents, George and Esther Herbstreith and brother, Lloyd. Prior to her marriage she was employed at a drug store, the Coca Cola Co. and an insurance company. Then, during a USO dance in Milwaukee she met her future husband, Harland E. “Rusty” Strandlien.



In their sixty five years of marriage, they had four children, Mary Jean, Kathy, David and Gail, who remember her fondly for her delicious home cooking, her love of entertaining and service to her community through the Northwest Junior Women's Club, PTA and Christian Mothers at her church. During this time, she was employed at the Northwest News and the Butler Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Director as well as the Hartland Chamber of Commerce.



Preceding her in death were her husband, Rusty, son, David, and granddaughter, Jessica. She is survived by her children, Mary Jean Cherne, Kathy Beveridge and Gail (Randy) Kegley, grandchildren, Curtis, Beth, Stacie, Kim and Shannon, and great grandchildren, Alina and Noah.



A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland, WI. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of the Mass at 5:00 PM followed by a dinner reception.
