Joseph Plakinger

Joseph Plakinger, of Hartland. Born to life on March 17, 1927. Born to eternal life on June 26, 2024, at the age of 97 years.

Beloved husband of the late Anna. Dearest father of Ann Weil Kipp (the late Herb) and Robert Plakinger. Loving Grandfather “Ota” to James (Anita) Weil, Wendy (Gerry) Olson, and Max (Dianna) Plakinger. Proud Great-Grandfather to David (Molly) Weil, Molly (Sam) Ziegler, Megan (Ryan) Murray, Maren (Stephen) Hanson, Derek Weil, Mitch (Elise) Olson, Nick Olson. Proud Great-Great Grandfather to Bailey, Nova, Fiona, Solomon, Bode, Archie, Summer, Hazel, JJ, and Augie.

Joe loved his family and his faith. His wife, Anna, was the love of his life. He was a hard worker and a skilled bricklayer/mason. He had a light-hearted, playful demeanor. He was an avid sheepshead player, and he thoroughly enjoyed spending hours outdoors, working in his yard. In his later years, he could be seen blowing leaves off the house roof, while on the roof, much to the chagrin of his wife and daughter. Joe touched the lives of many people, including his family, his neighbors, his church friends, his card playing friends, and his assisted-living friends and caregivers. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will cherish his memory forever. 

We will miss you dearly. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at St. Charles Catholic Church (313 Circle Drive) Hartland, WI.  Family and friends are invited to visit directly at church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass.

Memorials may be made to St. Charles Parish.
