Kathleen (Sweet Kate) Marie Majewski was a loving sister, an incredible Aunt and a memorable friend to many. Sweet Kate was called home to eternal glory suddenly on June 25, 2022, at the age of 71 after a brief stay at Angel’s Grace Hospice.
Kate was born March 20, 1951, in Elgin, Illinois. She lived with her parents until they passed and spent her remaining years with family members.
Kate faced many challenges throughout her life but never allowed those obstacles to hinder her in any way of living a full and happy life. Blessed with many talents, she had a passion for crafting, singing and reaching out to her long list of special people in her world. She spent hours crafting one-of-a-kind handmade cards and books that she so lovingly gave away as gifts. Kate was known to be a consummate baby whisperer and had an uncanny connection with dogs.
Never far from a microphone (or anything that resembled one), Kate was always ready to serenade an audience, the larger the crowd the better. She lit up with every note she sang and filled the room and hearts with her pure love. She stayed connected and present in the lives of family and friends with her phone calls and FaceTime chats. Kate had the gift for gab and loved to fill everyone in on the latest and greatest happenings.
No one loved a holiday more than Sweet Kate because it allowed her to be surrounded by those she loved the most. Her favorite day of the year, however, was her birthday. She lived for having all the love she put out into this world directed back to her fully on her birthday. March 20th will forever hold a significant meaning to all her family and friends.
Kate is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Alice (Papa and Mama); her sisters Alice Ling and Suzanne Walsh; and her niece Krystina Finn. She will be deeply missed by her remaining siblings Joan Duffy, Larry Majewski II (Julie), Mary Finn (Mike), Jane Emanuele (Sam) and Sheila Rocha (Albert); as well as her adoring 23 nephews and nieces (and their children) plus countless friends.
