Lois M. Wehrley

Lois Wehrley (nee Laird), of New Berlin, with family by her side, entered God’s kingdom on July 27, 2024, at the age of 93. Lois, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is predeceased by her husband, John, and son David (Jude) and is survived by her sons Gary (Holly) and Jim (Gray); her grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael, and Alexandra (Joseph); and great-grandchildren Erin, Emery, Zelah, Aria, and Elise. 

Blessed with years of exceptional health and vitality, Lois, along with husband John, shared their passion of gardening and, in their retirement years, enjoyed “working” their 66-acre hobby farm. Lois was a Master Gardner through the University of Wisconsin Extension Master Gardener program and volunteered, planting flowers or giving tours, at Boerner Botanical Gardens, Milwaukee County Zoo, and Summerfest grounds.

She was a faith-filled member of the New Berlin Free Methodist Church and devoted many joyful hours volunteering her time and talent at churches she previously attended located in the communities in which she resided over the years. This included being the regular pianist at two different churches, a talent that she began learning at age 4, starting with lessons from her grandmother.

A visitation will take place at Evert-Luko Funeral Home (170 Warren Avenue, Hartland, WI 53029) on August 25, 2024, from 1:00PM to 2:30PM, followed by a memorial service. A gathering and meal, at the American Legion, will follow. The inurnment will take place the following day at 1:00PM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (Union Grove).
