Lorraine M. Lorenzen, longtime Lake Country resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the age of 61.
Often acknowledged as the best shooter in Arrowhead girls’ basketball history, she holds the record as the leading scorer and was the only player to ever score 40 or more points twice in her career. Following her high school career, Lorraine was the first woman in Wisconsin to be awarded a full-ride scholarship to play college basketball, which she accepted at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Lorraine was a longtime employee at Quad Graphics and was currently employed at McDermott Cue Manufacturing. She was an avid reader, movie and music enthusiast and great admirer of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Diet Cherry Coke. Although she did not have any children of her own, Lorraine was wonderful with her nieces and nephews.
Lorraine will be deeply missed by her siblings Jeff (Shannon) Lorenzen, Anita (John) Masch and Ross (Brenda) Lorenzen, her nieces and nephews Rachel, Emily, Kyla, Kortney, Franky, Nick, and Chris. She is further survived by her beloved cats Lilly and Levi, other relatives, and many dear friends. Preceded in death by her parents Roger and Lila Lorenzen.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, July 31st at 1:00 PM in Gardens of Stone Bank Cemetery-West Shore Drive & CR K, Stone Bank followed by a Celebration of Life at Kuhtz General Store - W336N6939 Stonebank Road. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to HAWS.
