Mike was born on January 19, 1959, in Merton, WI, where he spent his childhood years. He attended Arrowhead High School where he graduated in 1978. After graduating he began his 50-year career mastering many trades including rough carpentry, roofing, siding, and painting. Throughout his career, he was known for his expertise, keen eye for detail, and quality in his craftmanship.
In his early married life, Mike moved to Okauchee Lake with his wife Lisa where they started a family. He later moved to Hartland where he purchased his family’s home which he restored and remodeled.
Mike enjoyed relaxing with his 2 cats Bennett & Leo while watching history shows and drinking a vanilla malt. He enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, shooting pool, and watching the Packers and the Bucks games. He also enjoyed bonfires, boat rides, and music while telling his favorite stories. Relaxing in the garage with his buddies after a long hard day at work while having a cold one was something he looked forward to. Mike loved going up north to Goodman with his friends to go hunting and he enjoyed ice fishing with his best buddies. He also loved going up north with his family to Arbor Vitae. Mike loved history in any form, collecting antiques, and building birdhouses, benches, chairs, flowerboxes, and sheds. He felt a great accomplishment in building his pool shed out of all salvaged materials and only spending $7.56. Mike had great respect for his elders. He loved talking with the old timers because he felt there was always something new to learn. He loved being with family and friends joking, laughing, and reminiscing about life.
Mike and Lisa loved spending time on the boat on Okauchee Lake, playing cribbage, Friday fish fry’s, long car rides, watching thunderstorms and snowstorms, and doing yard work, but most importantly Grandpa Mike took great pride in his grandkids. They were his world. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and many others.
This is not a goodbye, just a see you later.
Rock-N-Roll till we meet again.
