Patricia Ann Griesemer of Johnson Creek, WI, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (Nan), passed away in her home at age 81 on May 11, 2024, due to natural causes.
Born in Chicago in 1942 to Edward J. and Estelle C. Dunai, Pat and her brother Dennis were soon moved to Milwaukee’s southside to live. Pat graduated high school and a few years later married Thomas (Tom) Griesemer. She took pride in being a trailblazer, working full-time to help support her soon-to-be growing family. Starting as a 2nd shift warehouse tester, she eventually left the workforce as an Executive Secretary at JCPenney, which she always referred to as Jacque Penney, especially when her boys complained about their corduroys being too zoop-zoopy.
Pat was mother (Mom) to Corey, Kurt, and Gregg, her “boys.” She was quite proud of her sons’ and grandchildrens’ achievements and never failed to call and sing “Happy Birthday” to each of them every year.
Pat liked puzzles and games, especially if those games might pay a little back. She was a good friend to many, ready to feed the neighborhood at any meal, and she loved going out and having a good time. Old country music was her jam, and Pat and her friends could often be heard, from quite a distance, singing their favorite songs like “Satin Sheets” and “Stand By Your Man.”
Pat stood by her man for 61 years, through three children, three homes, and all the challenges that decades of life can bring. She fought hard against her ailments and surprised and impressed her doctors with her strength and tenacity.
Pat is preceded in death by her mother and father Estelle C. and Edward J. Dunai, and her sister-in-law Wilma Dunai. She is survived by her husband Thomas M. Griesemer, her brother, Dennis Dunai, her children, Gregg Griesemer, Kurt (wife Carrie), Corey (wife Leanne), and her grandchildren Casey, Cora, and Brody, as well as many nieces and nephews.
