Patrick Moore was born on March 30, 1932, in Door County ‘behind the bar’. His parents, Al and Lillian, owned Moore’s Bar in Brussels, Wisconsin where he and his two brothers and two sisters grew up. Pat, along with his brother Al, proudly claim to have started serving in the tavern when they were barely tall enough to reach the tap. Pat and his brothers were avid baseball players. They never miss the chance to talk baseball and how the ‘local’ Door County teams were doing.
Pat graduated from St. Norbert’s High School in Green Bay in 1950 and enlisted in the Army. Pat spent most of his service time in Europe, starting his life long passion for travel.
Pat returned from the service, married Mary Jane Paul (later divorced), and moved to Milwaukee. He attended Bryant and Stratton and then moved to Green Bay to raise his family. Pat had an incredible financial and business acumen working for Armour & Company as Controller for many years before being hired by Provimi Veal. In 1977, Pat moved his family to Hartland where he became Provimi’s Vice President. After retirement in 1992, he spent time traveling to many of his favorite places including the Caribbean, Europe, Las Vegas, and Florida. Many of the trips were with his partner and lifelong friend, Arline Bloom.
After retirement, Pat moved to be closer to his children and grandchildren, living in Colorado, Idaho, and Washington. In addition to his passion for travel, Pat loved to fish, golf, read, puzzle, play cards, and watch the Packers and Brewers. Most of all, he would never miss the opportunity to watch his grandchildren play sports. He was their biggest fan and everyone knew him as “Grandpa”.
Pat moved back home to Wisconsin in 2022 to a place he considered ‘God's country’.
Pat is survived by his brothers and sisters Al Moore, Colleen (Chris) DeNamur, Tom Moore, Kathy (Larry) Gentine, his children Patsy Moore, Paula (Ed) Phillips, Pam (Jim) Nielsen, Peggy (Mick) Bodnar, Michael (Misty) Moore, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to all the staff at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center for the special care they provided over the last several years.
