Richard “Dick” Joseph Seidl, age 90, was born to eternal life on August 7, 2023. Dick was born on August 24, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Loving husband and father. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Carol (Jakubowski), children: Jim (Mary), Tom (Jeanne), Linda Scheuerell, and Nancy (Mike) Nelson, grandchildren: Andrew (Samantha), Stephanie and Chuck Seidl, Molly Seidl, Matthew and Rebecca Nelson, great-grandchildren: The “Little Guys” Elliot and Grant Seidl and Jack Henry Seidl, who we will welcome later this year, sister: Carol Hensley and many nephews and nieces.
Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret, sisters Helen Wierschke and Mary Kinsey, brothers John, Bob, Chuck, and Hank Seidl, son-in-law Bill Scheuerell, and the dog he never wanted, but became his best friend, Precious.
Dick graduated from Pius XI High School in 1950 and then served in the U.S. Army. Like his father, Dick was a US Mail Carrier. He worked for many years at the JCPenney Distribution Center in Milwaukee and then became the proprietor of Dick and Carol’s Village Inn in Pewaukee.
He spent his life as a family man, providing and exhibiting a strong work ethic. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, the “Poker Club”, the “Dinner Club” and the “VI Gang”. His recent years were spent at home, with family, especially enjoying visits from the grand and great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at St. Charles Parish, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland, WI. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances for Dick can be directed to the charity of your choice or Lake Country Fire and Rescue.
