Richard A. Nawrocki

July 13, 1938 — April 7, 2025

Richard Alan Nawrocki, 86, passed away on April 7, 2025, in Hartland, Wisconsin.

Born on July 13, 1938, in Milwaukee, WI, Richard was the son of William L. and Regina M. (Windt) Nawrocki. He pursued his education at St. Casimir Grade School, St Francis de Sales High School, and graduated from Marquette University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps before embarking on a long and dedicated career as an insurance adjuster and company sales representative.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen. He is also well loved and dearly missed by his children Susan (Alex Vodenlich), Joe (Camille DiNicola), and Carol (Paul Schroth). He was also blessed with eight grandchildren: Anna, David, Esther, Ellie, Joshua “Josh”, Elizabeth “Libby”, Madeline, and Robert.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Fr. Robert W. Nawrocki and Gary N. Nawrocki.

Richard was deeply involved in his community and took a great deal of pride in serving in many leadership roles with local government throughout his lifetime. He served as a Trustee for the Village of Hartland and later as a Town Supervisor and Chairperson for the Town of Merton. He volunteered at the Hartland Food Pantry, Retzer Nature Center, and donated countless pints of blood and plasma over the years.

Richard was passionate about libraries and served on both the Town of Merton Library Board and as President of the Bridges Library System Board. He was an avid reader and looked forward to reading the newspaper every day in his favorite chair. He was an American History buff and especially enjoyed reading books about the Civil War and President Lincoln.

Richard’s faith was an important part of his life. He was a devoted member of St. Charles Parish in Hartland for over 50 years.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at St. Charles in Hartland on June 14, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM.

May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him. He will be greatly missed.
