Ronald A. Nicora “Nic” passed away September 4, 2023, in Hartland, WI. While physically alone at the time, we know he was carried peacefully into the open arms of Christ.
To family he was known as Ronnie, to friends and co-workers he was known as Nic, and to his youngest grandkids…he was “Grandpa Ice Cream”. As kids, we don’t remember him even eating ice cream, but to the grandkids, there was always a freezer full of it for when they would visit!
Nic proudly served in the Navy and the Merchant Marines for 4 years and was aboard the “USS Kitty-Hawk” during the Vietnam War. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on January 27, 1943, to Constantin and Jeanette (Reupert) Nicora. Nic is survived by his prayer warrior wife, Judy Nicora (Freeman). Together they had 4 children, Mike (Karyn), Kari (Caleb), Kati (Jeff), and Suzy (Brad). He is also survived by his amazing grandchildren: Caleb, Ava, James, Jonathan, Josiah, Arianna, Amiah, Gracelyn, and Annalia. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy (Bill) Kotras and Diane (Larry) Hansen - and many nieces and nephews spread throughout the country.
Nic had a love for cars – especially Corvettes! In his younger years, he traveled Route 66 in his beloved, 1959 Corvette. Eventually settling down to raise a family in Pewaukee WI, he and his dad built us the coolest playhouse in the neighborhood!
He had a knack for beating death and saw many miracles of his life being spared. That drew his heart closer to God in his later years, as he put his faith and simple hope into how easy it is for us to trust God for eternity with Him.
We are thankful for his life and the memories along the way.
A memorial service and immediate graveside burial will take place at WI Memorial Park (Chapel of the Chimes) on Saturday, November 4th at 1:45 pm.
