Our family sadly lost its spiritual leader on Wednesday June 8, 2022. Ron “Pops” Patterson was the heart and soul of the Patterson clan, the youngest of four brothers, he was born to Chester and Esther Patterson in Chicago Illinois on November 4, 1942. His parents, and his three older brothers, Bud, Pat, and Bob, all preceded him in death, and he became a father figure to the entire family, providing a constant source of strength, prayer, and encouragement to us all. He was also preceded in death by his infant grandchild Nicholas Ronald – son of Ken and Cathy. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathy Patterson, his daughter Diane Vitolka, her husband Jim Vitolka, their children Tyler, Lauren and Stacy, his son Ken Patterson, Ken’s wife Cathy, and their children Haley and Luke.
His life was one of genuine light in all our lives, and we will always remember his laugh, his smile, and the gleam in his eyes as he watched with pride as we all navigated the complexities of our lives. Pops served his country honorably and with distinction in the US Army, something that he never forgot – and something that he was forever proud of. Anybody who knew him was better off because of it.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in his honor on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Evert-Luko Funeral Home in Hartland, Wisconsin, at 170 Warren Avenue. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00, with the celebration of life service from 2:00-2:30 that will begin with a Flag Ceremony and flag presentation to his Wife to honor his Military Service.
In Lieu of flowers, Ron’s wife Kathy has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association to honor Pop’s battle with this disease.
