Ronald Charles Alberts; born July 1st, 1939; passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 10th, 2025.
Son of Erwin Olaf Alberts & Ann Marie Wisniewski; he is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years Betty Lou Alberts (Keberlein); loving children Cindy (Joe) Kaminski, Ann (Jackson) Fothergill, Dori (John) Christenson, Sara (Gary) Vidian, Ron (Victoria) Alberts Jr., Jessie (Pete) Alberts; and a large boat load of grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Ron proudly served the US Navy aboard USS Chopper SS 342 specializing in radar and electronics. Back on shore, he reentered civilian life as a self-taught engineer. He ran RC Alberts Co first as a manufacturer sales rep. Once computers began to popularize, Ron taught himself programming and transitioned the business to information systems. The final chapter of his professional career was spent at F. Dohmen Co as head of information systems.
Ron’s loved ones will remember him most for his analytical mind, mischievous sense of humor, penchant for practical jokes, and devotion to his family. His retired years were filled with tinkering on small engineering projects, not so small pyrotechnics, and handmade art metals. The cost of his occasional trip to Las Vegas with his good luck charm Betty would most often end up covering itself due to their winnings.
