Russell A. Rymut

September 11, 1967 — February 1, 2025

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend

Russell A. Rymut, affectionately known as Russ, passed away on February 1, 2025, in Hartland, Wisconsin. He was 57 years old.

Russ grew up with a sharp mind, a quick wit, and a love for adventure. He pursued his passion for engineering, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Marquette University in 1990, and dedicating his career to pursuing groundbreaking innovations in medical devices as an electrical engineer. Beyond work, Russ was a man of many interests. He was passionate about photography, strummed his guitar with heart, and never missed a chance to cheer on the Green Bay Packers. He had a love for motorsports and a deep appreciation for travel. One of his favorite trips was with his wife, Melinda, that they took to Africa for their 25th wedding anniversary.

At the core of Russ’s life was his family. He was a devoted husband to Melinda Carothers, with whom he shared 36 wonderful years of marriage. He was a proud and loving father to his four sons—Virgil (Kristin) Jones, Kevin (Julia) Rymut, Nicholas Rymut, and Adam (Renee) Rymut—and a cherished grandfather to Samara, Elijah, Madden, and Porter Jones. His presence was unwavering; whether coaching his children’s sports teams, offering life advice, or sharing his signature jokes, Russ always made sure his family knew they were loved.

Russ is survived by his father, August (Bonnie) Rymut; his sisters, Julia Rymut and Linda Giordano; and his half-siblings, Sandy (Dale) Schwoerer, Karen (Kevin) Skorcz, JR Rymut, nieces and nephews, and neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kamlynn Keyes.

To honor Russ’s memory, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or World Central Kitchen, causes that reflect his generous and caring spirit.

Russ’s humor, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
