Shirley M. Clauer (nee Meyer), 82 died on February 5, 2021 at Heritage Senior Living, Hartland, WI. She was born November 4, 1938, to Olive (Witt) and Edwin Meyer of Greenfield, WI. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1956, later marrying her high school sweetheart Walter J. Clauer Jr. on September 3, 1959. Shirley and Walter founded the Center Oak 4-H Club (Monches, WI) in 1965 and were active in all facets of 4-H life both locally and statewide for nearly 40 years. She was also proud to volunteer her time as the Health Room Assistant at North Lake School, (North Lake, WI).
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Walter; her parents, Edwin and Olive Meyer her sisters Valerie Riech and Beverly Jones, and brother Edward Meyer.
Shirley is survived by sons Phillip and daughter-in-law Vickie (State College, Pennsylvania), Clifford and daughter-in-law Karen (Rubicon, Wisconsin), grandchildren Ashley Schatz and husband David, Phillip, Cody and Kalena. She is also survived by sister-in-laws Marilyn Meyer, Carol White, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Judy Bobrofsky and Jerry and Joan Clauer plus 14 nieces and nephews.
For those wanting to honor Shirley’s love of summer camp, the family would suggest a donation to the Camp Lakotah Campership Fund, 1875 21st. Ave. Wautoma, WI 54982 or the M.S. Society of Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capital Drive, Brookfield, WI in the Chapel of the Chimes, located in the Great Memorial Building on Wednesday, February 10 at 1:00pm.
