Terrance "Terry" J. Stephens

May 27, 1951 — December 7, 2023

Terrance James Stephens entered heaven on December 7, 2023 at the age of 72.

Much loved husband of Kathy (nee Prioletta) and beloved father to Erin (Jack Corrigan) and the late Katie (Jason) Spangler. Adoring grandfather to Alice and Robbie. Dear brother of Pat (Joanne) Stephens. Valued brother-in-law and adopted family member to Maria and Michelle Prioletta. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends including Jeff Redfern and Kurt Smith.

Preceded in death by his parents Michael James and Mary Walsh Stephens and sisters Mary Henkel, Kathy McLaughlin, and Julia Smith, brother Michael and in-laws Larry Henkel, Betty Stephens, Tom Smith, and Mark Prioletta.

Terry was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and graduated from St. John Cathedral High School and the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. While his career path included different jobs in transportation, he loved his work as a high school teacher most of all.

Terry was a true Irishman and proud of his Irish heritage – which was evidenced by his sense of closeness of family, love of music, fondness for parties, and the ability to always tell a good story. If there is a word that exemplified Terry, it was true “friend”. He was loyal, generous and supportive, with an engaging sense of humor and a spirit of adventure. He brought out the best in everyone he touched. And, whatever challenges life presented, Terry met them with courage, grace and a sense of optimism.

Most of all, Terry was an incredible husband, father and grandfather, fiercely proud of his girls and grandchildren and a loving partner to his wife. He was selfless and would go to the end of the earth to support them and ensure their happiness.
