Theodore E. Seitz

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Theodore Edward Seitz passed away peacefully with family at his side. Theodore was born on April 12, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the eldest of 5 children of Monica Esser Seitz and Edward John Seitz.

His mother entered him in a contest and Theodore was chosen as the Most Perfect Baby in Milwaukee. 

Though he grew to be a gifted glazier, gold miner and a man of great imagination, his true calling was his lifelong commitment to his Catholic Faith. This Faith and his love for the Eucharist and his Blessed Mother sustained him though many challenges in his later years. As his memory failed, his lifelong dedication to the Holy Rosary remained.

This is also the Faith that sustains and unites the 10 children he and his wife, Janet Lou (Gill) Seitz, brought into the world.

He was preceded in death by Janet, his parents, sisters Barbara Moering and Elizabeth (Betty) Pindel and brothers Edmund and John Seitz. He is survived by all 10 of his children: Most Reverend Bishop Mark Seitz, Mary Stockhausen, Steven (Jeanne) Seitz, Suzanne (Carl) Fanello, Cynthia (Timothy) Flenniken, Janine (Tim) Ellsworth, Robert (Antonia) Seitz, Kathleen (Daniel) Strieter, Michelle (Michael) Lancaster, Patrick (Terri) Seitz in addition to 34 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Theodore's life will be solemnly commemorated with visitation on October 3, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at St Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Dr, Hartland, WI 53029. A Vigil Scripture Service will follow. The final visitation will occur on October 4, 2024, at 10:00 am with the Funeral Mass commencing at 11:00 am in the same sacred space. The family extends an invitation to join them in prayer and remembrance.
