Thomas "Tom" Bruns

Thomas "Tom" Frank Bruns, age 70, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on June 17, 2024. Tom was born on December 5, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Dr. Edward and Elizabeth Bruns, who preceded him in death.

After graduating from Marshall High School in Milwaukee, Tom pursued higher education, earning an undergraduate degree from UW-Whitewater and graduating from Marquette Dental School in 1980. He dedicated his career to dentistry, specializing in periodontics after completing both general practice and periodontics residencies at the Milwaukee V.A. Medical Center. Tom's passion for his work led him to spend over 40 years as a much-loved periodontist at Dental Associates clinics in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and southeast Wisconsin.

Tom was known for his hardworking nature, infectious positivity, and vibrant personality. He was the life of the party, always ready to lend a helping hand. An avid athlete, Tom enjoyed bicycling, skiing, running and triathlons. He also cherished time spent boating and having fun on the water.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Barb married 42 years, his sister Carol Rooney (George), and brother Robert Bruns (Marilyn). He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, staff, and patients whom he touched with his kindness and compassion. He will also be missed by his dog Diesel who eagerly awaited each day for him ending in a big crazy tail wag.

The Evert-Luko Funeral Home at 170 Warren Avenue in Hartland, Wisconsin, is assisting with the arrangements for Tom's end-of-life services. No formal services will be held per the deceased's wishes. 

Tom's legacy of dedication, positivity, and love for life will forever be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
