Timothy Willey, formerly of Delafield, Amberg, and West Bend passed away peacefully on Friday at 11:45 AM January 28th at the age of 92 with his family at his side.
Tim was a very welcoming, kind and generous person. Family time was his first love, however he also enjoyed entertaining and having extended family and friends at his home. He loved to go dancing and take weekend road trips with the love of his life Dorothy. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, started and ran the “Sureshot Hunt Club” with family and friends. He hunted up to the age of 90. He loved cutting grass, gardening and watching birds. He loved dogs, especially labs and retrievers, owning 18 over his lifetime. Throwing horseshoes was another hobby of which he was quite good, taking 1st and 2nd place several times at local fireman's picnics. He loved to spend time in his woodwork shop. He was always excited to start new projects from wells to large airplane swings to toy trucks and trains. He loved playing cards and games such as Sheepshead, Racko, and poker. Being with other people was an essential part of who he was, telling stories and jokes to everyone he met and even strangers. He would always say “if you see someone without a smile give them one of yours.”
He married Dorothy, the love of his life in 1950. They were married for 69 years.
He was called to serve his country during the Korean war, drafted into the Army, He served 2 yrs as a corporal from 1951 to 1953 delivering supplies to the front lines, often under very heavy attack.
