Vasilios Katravas passed away at the age of 72 on Monday, October 16, 2023 in hospice care at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Kalavryta, Greece, the son of Haralabos and Androniki Katravas.
Preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Kostas (Ingrid) Baroumis and Nikos Baroumis. Vasilios is further survived and will be greatly missed by his sisters Maria (Lambros) Lamias, Paraskevi/Voula (Juan Nevarez) Katravas, brothers Dimitrios (Kostantina) Katravas, Hristos (Panagiota) Katravas, his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.
A special thanks to Voula Katravas and Juan Nevarez for taking such great care of him, especially these last few months. Also, to the doctors and nurses at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Vasili (Williami to many), brought joy, love, and laughter to all who knew him. He was a celebrity in his village of Kalavryta, loved by all. Thio mou, Kalo Paradiso. Tha mas lipsis poli.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2160 Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI. Visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
Final rest will be at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
