Emily Sauld aged 14, of Lisbon Township passed suddenly on Saturday September 21, 2019 from an
autoimmune disorder. Emily was surrounded by her parents Jon and Susan Sauld and her amazing sister Samantha. Emily was born and spent her first seven years in Geneva, Illinois, baptized at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
During her early years, Emily was an active participant in Dance, Girl Scouting, Piano, Soccer and Swimming. As she entered the 2nd grade, she and her family moved to Wisconsin. On her first day at Merton Elementary School, Emily was seen in her bright pink (her favorite color) sparkly dress. In school, Emily participated and excelled in drama, choir, sports and student senate. She was a straight A student and President of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). Outside school, she was a regular volunteer at the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS). Emily was also a great artist who drew solace in this activity. She enjoyed time with her family as a member of the “Crew” often in the boat on one of the nearby lakes. Emily enjoyed watching and playing sports, with Sundays spent in a kitchen cook-off with her father as they watched the NFL. Quick witted and wildly competitive, Emily always strived to be #1 yet maintained a great compassion as she sought to include others by providing a helping hand. Wearing number 4, Emily’s greatest love was playing basketball. She participated in multiple school and club teams and was really looking forward to joining the Arrowhead basketball program.
Emily is survived by her parents, Jon and Susan Sauld, older sister Samantha, dog Sparkles and cat
Pepper. Further surviving are her grandparents Craig and Sharon Sauld and Roger (DeAnn) Ferris; her Aunt Cindy Smith, Uncles Nick (Lori) Ferris and Steve (Cleo) Ferris and Uncle/Godfather Lee Ferris. Emily also leaves behind twelve cousins: Cameron, Alexander, Zachary, Cosette, Christian, Ryan, Sarah, Benjamin, Eli, Ross, Carly and Jack.
Emily was preceded in death two days earlier by her grandmother Judy Twomey. The two of them
always enjoyed sharing their birthdays in October (also two days apart). Both had fond memories of
their Halloween themed birthday parties.
The family would like to extend their great appreciation to the Merton, Arrowhead and
Lake County communities for rallying around them in this most difficult time
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 3:00 - 5:45 PM at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Dr. Hartland, WI 53029. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6:00 PM followed by a dessert reception (one of Emily’s favorite things). Final rest will be in the Hartland Village Annex Cemetery. If desired memorials may be made to the family for a fund which will be established in Emily’s name.
