Beverly (Bev) Voelker, 89, of Milwaukee passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2019. She was born June 26, 1930 to Albert and Evelyn (Stoll) and graduated from South Division High School. She went on to work as a switchboard operator with the Yellow Pages and then the Imperial Palace (Las Vegas, Nevada). In Vegas she met the love of her life, Ron, and spent many happy years together.
Bev lived life to the fullest. After spending many years in Vegas she made her way back to Milwaukee and spent the last several years living with her sister Marilyn. Together they traveled numerous times to Vegas, sipped on a Brandy Old Fashioned at the 68th Street Pub, or dined at any place where they could get a “twofer”. Bev also enjoyed singing to her favorite movies, watching the Milwaukee Brewers (she never missed a game!), or placing a bet on a horse or a dollar in the slot machine. We all loved her quirky sayings like “you talk like a sausage”, “shoot the bird”, or “tucky finey doobie tish”. She will be truly missed.
Bev is survived by her loving sister Marilyn Cardenas, her son Rick Schardt of Vegas, NV and stepson Rick (Barb) of Chicago, IL, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Ron, son Todd (Schardt), stepson Mark (Voelker), and brothers George (Lange) and Dick (Lange).
A huge thank you to the numerous medical staff at Froedtert Memorial Hospital who treated Bev with the utmost kindness and respect.
